New for 2012 Bird Free

A brand new concept in bird control developed in South Korea. Instead of spikes and wires to keep pigeons at bay a gel is placed in strategic locations. The gel appears to pigeons as if it were on fire.  It will even work when covered with snow. Animal Aid the UK’s largest animal rights organisation has endorsed its use.

Where has our summer gone?

From a promising start this spring the weather changed for the worse. This has affected a number of our ‘usual suspects’ such as wasps and ants. This time last year we were in full swing dealing with these summer pests.This year there have has been very little wasps activity. Apparently after speaking to suppliers this has not just been limited to the North West. Did we have a summer?

Increase in Rodent and Mole Activity

The poor weather and the regular downpours have affected rodent activity. There appears to be a trend in an increase in activity and infestations. Compared to this time last year there has been a steady increase in the number of call outs we have had for both rats and mice. Moles have also been increasingly active, not a week goes by without a call.

Rogue Traders

Again we have seen some dodgy practices in 2012: We have seen evidence of inflated prices, unecessary work, bad advice, lack of knowledge and fraud. BEWARE of traders with only a MOBILE phone contact number and no address or a those claiming to be local with an unusual local telephone number. If they start adding extras or inflate the price that they have quoted think again. If they claim they cannot guarantee the destruction of a wasps nest unless you pay extra then give them a wide berth and send them on their way.
